Sport-Focused Community Strategy

Improving Lives Through Community Action

At GYTCIC, we are committed to transforming lives across Great Yarmouth and the surrounding areas by harnessing the power of sport. While our core mission remains Improving People’s Lives, we deliver this by using sport as a vehicle for positive change, opportunity, and community connection.
Our strategy focuses on expanding access to high‑quality, inclusive sporting opportunities that meet the needs of local people. Through community‑led programmes, targeted initiatives, and collaborative partnerships, we aim to address key social challenges such as physical inactivity, social isolation, low confidence, and limited opportunities for young people.

By creating welcoming, accessible, and diverse sporting pathways, we strive to:

Promote healthier, more active lifestyles across all ages and abilities.

Reduce barriers to participation by offering low‑cost, inclusive and community‑designed activities.

Build confidence, resilience, and aspiration through structured sport, coaching, and personal development.

Strengthen community bonds by bringing people together through shared sporting experiences.

Create positive pathways for young people, from grassroots engagement to skill‑building, leadership, and volunteering.

Support wellbeing and mental health by providing safe, supportive environments where individuals feel valued and included.
